David Cooper, Independent Chair for West Sussex Safeguarding Adults Board
David Copper, BA (Hons), MA, CQSW, with over 30 years experience of managing large operational and commissioning services in local authority, health and voluntary sectors. In 2014 he became the first independent chairperson of West Sussex Safeguarding Adults Board. David has a strong record in developing multi-agency team working, quality assurance and performance arrangements across a range of organisational settings. With significant experience of adult and children safeguarding policy and practice, having chaired or held executive membership of adult and children safeguarding boards, lay membership of a Clinical Commissioning Board, and spoken at national safeguarding conferences. David is a family carer, active in local community initiatives, with a strong commitment to ensuring that the voice of service users and carers are an integral part of safeguarding. He has just completed a further postgraduate degree.
